Project: Wall and way-finding illustrations
Client: St Fagans National Museum of Rural Life
(Amgueddfa Cymru / Museum Wales)
Year: 2017-present

This is a wider commission for the 'Making History' redevelopment of St. Fagans National Museum of History in Cardiff. I worked with Event Communications to deliver illustrative branding for the museum's brand new exhibition space, Gweithdy, opened in Autumn 2018.
Gweithdy (the Welsh word for workshop), is an iconic, multi-purpose sustainable building. This new gallery/activity space celebrates the skills of makers past and present, and encourages visitors of all ages to experience traditional skills first-hand.
Here are images from both the entrance cafe, and interior space of the gallery. There are six themes of making, and I create wayfinding illustrations, typography, images showing the making process and large scale wall elevations to bring the exhibits to life.
A merchandise range was later commissioned along with activity sheets - images coming soon.
