I am Sarah Edmonds. An illustrator and designer based in Worthing, UK.
A self taught artist, I spent much of my childhood adventuring around farmyards and forests which fed my imagination until fit to burst!
My portfolio includes hand drawn maps, mischievous puns, colourful alphabets and curious characters, produced using a mix of hand drawn and digital techniques. My favourite materials are chunky crayons, inks and my ipad pro, and I never leave the house without some sort of sketchbook for jotting down ideas. Much of my inspiration comes from the natural world, people watching and mid century design.
In 2013 I was awarded a summer artist residency with Kultivera in Tranås, Sweden, and since then have taken part in group exhibitions and curated my own - most recently, Alphabetown.
Alongside commissioned projects for children's publishers, museums and arts organisations I produce my own collections of illustrated gifts.
Selected clients: Walker Books, Quarto Children's Books, RSPB, National Museum Wales, The Story Museum, ONCA Network, Kew Gardens, Literature Wales, Kate Humble, New Writing South and Oxford University Press
